Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium is now one of the best in the country, Kotoko should have continued with the Adako Jachie project instead of erecting a ‘container’ – Fmr Kotoko BoD member

Former BoD member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Bernad Ziel can’t phantom why the Adako Jachie project has been abandoned by the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The Adako training center project which was started by the erstwhile executive BoD chairman of Kotoko, Dr. KK Sarpong almost a decade ago has still not been completed.

The project was designed to be funded by Telecommunication giant MTN however the project situated on the outskirts of Kumasi has stalled since Dr. KK Sarpong left office.

The current management of Asante Kotoko led by Nana Yaw Amponsah is on record to have said the club’s training ground is not suitable for block structures and hence, his move to choose a container structure

The container structure project has been a separate project by Kotoko management while the main Adako Jachie project remains a white elephant.

Bernad Ziel speaking on Kessben TV expressed worry about the infrastructural deficit of the club, citing that it would have been more prudent to continue with the main project and complete it.

Bernad Ziel took time out to commend the BoD chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko for bringing to existence the Dr. Kwame Kyei sports complex in Ashanti Region.

“Look at the Dr. Kwame Kyei sports complex, it now of one the best stadiums in Ghana now. When you take out the Kumasi, Accra, Tamale, and Cape Coast stadiums, there is no stadium that can be compared to the one at Abramkese.

For Kotoko When you speak, someone will say, they are building a container.. do you know the heat that will contain, it means air conditioners have to be always on all throughout and can we sustain that and be paying for the electricity that comes with all that.

When you speak they say you hate them, this container structure at Adako Jachie, they should have continued with the main Adako Jachie project” Bernard said.
