We Will Fight The Govt With The Laws Of The Land – Nii Nartey Adumuah IV

The Osiahene for Osu, Nii Nartey Adumuah IV has stated emphatically that, the Ga Traditional council is determined to fight the government with the laws of the land since government has forcibly taken their lands without paying any compensation to them.
Speaking to Kessben’s news reporter Eunice Afoley, the Osiahene explained that vested and stools lands does not belong to government but rather leased public lands to the government.
Explaining further , he mentioned that the government practice compulsory acquisition which means that the properties are been forcibly taken away from the rightful owners.
” They do not own any lands; they forcibly take them away from the chiefs’ he said”.
According to him, the major challenges they face is, the government requires land from the stools for public development but after which government sells the land to private owners with their titles on it without any form of consultation with the chiefs. Court rules against them whenever the issue is taken there, he added.
Nii Nartey Adumuah IV said they have realized that, the laws governing the land system are made against Ga-Adangbe because of capital and cosmopolitan. ‘’Anyone just works in there and do whatever they like’ ’he lamented.
Osiahene Nii Nartey Adumuah IV has therefore promised citizens who rampantly buy lands from the government when they know government does not own any property that, they can put up their buildings on the lands with the speed but they will come after them very soon with the law.

The Osiahene for Osu, Nii Nartey Adumuah IV reacting to the just ended Ghana month celebration, expressed his view that if the country promotes their culture and involve the people of GA during national activities, they will also promote Ghana.
According to the Osiahene, the country does not involve the people of Ga in national programs hence they have no reason to celebrate or promote the country.
‘’They don’t involve us during national activates, so how do we celebrate and promote it?’’
He stated that, places and areas such as the Kotoka International Airport has to depict the Ga culture and language, but rather does that of the Ashanti’s, though the Airport is on Ga land.
‘’Ga’s are having airport where it must present a Ga culture and language that when travelers and foreigners alight from the plane, they will be welcomed with Ga language and culture but are rather ushered in other language like Akwaaba and Adowa dance’’
He lamented further that, when Ga’s are given the attention, respect and hearing ears of their heritage, then they are ready to participate in the Ghana month celebration and promote the country. ‘’Ghana should display us and we will also display Ghana’’ he said.

Ahead of the Easter celebration, the Osiahene for the people of Osu, Nii Nartey Adumuah iv used the opportunity to urge the Ghanaian populace most especially the people of Ga to be totally submissive and reflect back to the death of Christ. He is of the view that, it is time to pray and entirely summon our needs and supplications to God while accounting our stewardship to our marker, which according to him, will yield good results as Christ will resurrect from the dead victoriously.
The Osu Osiahene pleaded to all to stay humble and be prayerful without doing the unworthy things. This he is optimistic that, the people of Ga will succeed and contribute to the development of the Country if they heed to his advice during the holy week and month of God.
Nii Nartey Adumuah IV called on the protection of their ancestors and God over the majority of Ghanaians who will be traveling to celebrate the season with their loved ones.
