Vice Chancellors Of Technical Universities Of Ghana Holds 2 Days 2nd Annual Applied Research Conference Of Technical Universities In Ghana
Vice Chancellors of Technical Universities of Ghana holds 2nd annual APPLIED RESEARCH CONFERENCE OF TECHNICAL UNIVERSITIES IN GHANA for 2 days at Accra Technical University, with the theme; sustainable Technologies, Innovations and Entrepreneurial Development. The main purpose of the annual conference is to showcase various innovative and technologies develop by both staff and students of the Technical Universities offer faculty the opportunity to present their research words in order to enhance the development of the country.
On behave of the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo to deliver the KEYNOTE address, the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation and Cultural Display, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie reveals that, the Government is wiling to provide necessary facilities and logistics for the training or technical universities to train employable young Ghanaians for our industry.
According to him, we need our academic to stand up and lead us to develop Ghana. He therefore urges all the technical universities in the country to direct their researchers to critical developmental issues like sanitation, poverty alleviation, innovation for industrial development especially in value addition to the raw materials we produce.
Speaking at the conference, the deputy Education Minister, Madam Gifty Twum Ampofo on behave of the Education Minister, encourages Technical Universities to advertise many of their programs, get a lot of collaboration with the industries to market our students.
She however appeals to the industries to open their doors to allow our trainees to have internship in their various industries for the betterment of our country.
The vice Chancellor ,Accra Technical University, Prof. Samuel Nii Odai also highlighted his views as Chancellor on the conference which is being initiated by the Chancellors of Technical Universities nationwide.
