We will pay monthly allowance to ‘Born-ones’ and single mothers when voted in power – PNC
The Peoples National Convention (PNC) has proposed to the ruling New Patriotic Party to consider monthly stipends for single mothers in Ghana.
The General Secretary of the party, Janet Asana Nabla, speaking on Kessben FM/TV’s Breaking News with Nyakoh Abromomah suggested to the ruling Government to consider the plight of single mothers by putting them on a monthly allowance.
She stressed that the party has thought it wise to unburden these mothers from the hardship they go through in raising their children single-handedly.
Madam Asana indicated that if their call is not heeded by the Government, a PNC Government will implement a policy that will see single mothers being given allowance when voted in power.
While many women have welcomed the suggestion by the PNC, Some Ghanaians have opined that this ‘weird” policy will rather encourage more men to impregnate women and abandoned their responsibilities.
