Support Government To Solve The Economic Challenges….. Akufo Addo
The President Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo has appealed to the rank and file of the NPP to rally solidly behind his government to improve the current economic crunch we find ourselves in as a country.
The president made this appeal when he addressed the regional chairpersons and top party executives at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. He spoke after an emergency meeting to deliberate on the just ended pooling stations and electoral areas elections of the party in the country. The president told the executives at the meeting that government is doing its best to deal with the economic problems facing the country.
He intimated that what’s happening in Ghana is not only peculiar here but a global crisis arising from a pandemic and recent conflict between two big countries ; Russia and Ukraine. “Those who want to speak the truth and face reality can attest to this ; the global pandemic has thrown every country’s economic order into turmoil and our country being a developing country is no exception.
Even countries like Germany and Canada are rationing food and fuel , so it’s real. But we shall definitely get out of it because the economy has started showing signs of recovery ” the president envisaged. He admitted that times are very hard but his government is working very hard to fix the situation . He therefore called on all Ghanaians to bear with his government whiles its strives hard to resolve the challenges. The president indicated that all the economic fundamentals are gradually getting better and he hopes by the end of the year things would return to normal to give the people a deserving relief.
The president advised the party members to unite against 2024 that is so crucial in the party’s forward march for another victory. He advised them to bury their egos , anger and frustration to face the challenge ahead of 2024. This message was delivered by the party’s General Secretary on the president’s behalf who briefed the Press after the critical and emergency meeting.
The meeting sought to appraise the just ended elections, the outcome, challenges, outstanding issues, and the preparedness for the forthcoming ones. The General Secretary gave out the dates for the impending elections, the requirements and eligibility benchmarks and the ground rules.
All the three elections would be held systematically, Constituency, Regional and National ; one after the other. The last one is the National Executives to be held in Accra on the 14 of July, 2022. The meeting was at the behest of the National Executive Committee headed by the president.
