Deputy Agric Minister details why Food Prices are Skyrocketing, assure prices will drop soon(Video)
The deputy minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo speaking in an extensive interview with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben TV(Kessben Maakye), admitted that food prices are higher compared to previous years.
The Manso Adubia member of parliament said there are a number of reasons accounting for the inflation in prices of foodstuff which he assured his outfit is working tirelessly to ensure that the situation will be managed.
He noted the erratic rainfall in the season had a massive effect on the crops which has accounted for the higher prices of foodstuffs because of its scarcity.
According to him, the Ghana buffer stock which is responsible for stocking up direct produce from the farmers has been handicapped in terms of funding— resulting in the current situation.
The deputy minister said President Akufo-Addo has the Agric sector at heart and is very much concerned about the whole situation.
