Economic hardship: ‘The two Attas, Ofori Atta and Amoako Atta are the problem of the NPP Government’ – Ziega
Political analyst, Nana Frimpong Ziega has blamed Finance minister Ken Ofori Atta and the minister of roads, Amoako Atta for the seemingly despondent state of the country’s economy.
Nana Frimpong Ziega reckons the utterances of the two leaders on the issues of the country’s economy have paved the way for more holes to be punched by the opposition on some bad economic decisions by the government.
Speaking with Kwame Appiah Kubi (Mr Speaker) on Kessben FM/TV, Nana Frimpong Ziega stressed that the decision to close down all road tolls in the country by the road minister has been a bad decision making the country lose a huge amount of money since November last year.
Amoako Atta in defence of his decision said that the country was expected to rake in a huge amount of money from the proposed E-levy thus had to cancel the road tolls which was already generating money for the economy.
Following the closed down of the road tolls in Ghana in November 2021, the proposed E-levy is still yet to be passed after four months making the country lose some good monies.
The road minister has been massively blamed for the current state while the Finance minister who has been a chief proponent of the E levy has not been left out of the criticism.
