NPP Council of Elders Congratulates John Boadu And New National Officers, Calls For Unity Ahead Of 2028

The National Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated the newly elected National Officers of the party following the party’s National Delegates Conference.
In a letter dated October 5, 2026, and signed by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Sulemana Yirimea, the Council extended warm congratulations to Mr. John Boadu on his election as National Chairman and to all other newly elected officers.
“On behalf of the National Council of Elders, I extend my warmest congratulations to you on your election as National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party. I also congratulate all the newly elected National Officers of the Party,” the letter stated.
The Council noted that the election comes at a crucial time in the history of the party and urged the new leadership to immediately begin the work of rebuilding and strengthening the party now that the contest is over.
“As the new leadership assumes office, I urge you and your colleagues to reach out to all the other candidates who contested the various positions. They should not be seen as opponents or be left on the sidelines. In the supreme interest of the Party, we must bring everyone on board and make use of the experience, knowledge and ideas of all our members,” Alhaji Yirimea said.
The Elders stressed that the journey to rescue the nation has begun and that it will require a united, disciplined and well-organized party to rally behind the party’s flagbearer, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to work towards victory in the 2028 General Elections.
The Council further assured the new leadership of its continuous support and guidance.
“As Elders of the Party, our doors will always remain open to you for advice, guidance and discussion. We have one Party, and it is our collective responsibility to protect its traditions, strengthen its structures, make it attractive to Ghanaians and position it as the Party of choice.”
The Council wished the new leadership wisdom, strength and success as they take up the responsibility of leading the party.
