Former NAFCo CEO’s trial adjourned to allow access to seized devices

The trial of former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCo), Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, has been adjourned to October 20, 2026.
The case, which was scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 7, was adjourned by Justice Francis Achibonga to allow the accused persons to access information contained on mobile phones and laptops recently released to them by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Lawyers for the accused told the court that the electronic devices contained information they needed to properly prepare their defence against the charges.
EOCO on Monday, October 5, released monies and electronic devices seized from the couple as part of investigations into allegations that they caused financial loss of GH¢62.6 million to the state.
The released items included mobile phones and laptops, which the accused persons said contained relevant information needed for their defence.
The court subsequently adjourned the trial to October 20 to give the accused persons sufficient time to access the information and prepare their defence.
