NPP Russia Branch Election Committee Affirms Dr. Ajene Abongo Mashood As Only Legitimate Chairman

The Election Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Russia Branch has issued a press statement declaring Dr. Ajene Abongo Mashood Jacob as the only recognized and legitimate Chairman of the branch.

According to the Committee, Dr. Mashood, who is the founder and incumbent Chairman, was legitimately elected on 8th August, 2026, in what it describes as the only election conducted by the NPP Russia Branch Election Committee.

“The only legitimate NPP Russia Branch Chairman that was duly and legally elected with the supervision of the Russia Branch Election Committee is Dr. Ajene Abongo Mashood Jacob. We did not conduct election to elect any other person other than Dr. Abongo Mashood Jacob,” the statement said.

The Committee cautioned the party’s External Affairs Directorate and the general public against recognizing any other person or group parading themselves as Chairman or executives of the Russia Branch.

“We want to inform you all that any person or group of people putting themselves out as NPP Russia Chairman or executive are not legitimate and the branch does not recognize them,” the statement added.

The Committee also expressed concern over the alleged addition of what it described as an “illegal executive” to external branch platforms, calling on the External Directorate to take note and desist from engaging what it terms an unconstitutional executive.

“We have also taken notice of the external directorate adding the said illegal executive on the external branch platforms. We do not recognize them and they do not represent NPP Russia Branch,” it stated.

The Election Committee stressed that its mandate was to conduct elections for the Russia Branch and that it remains committed to protecting the democratic processes and values of the NPP.
