Ghana and Panama Sign MoU To Begin Bilateral Political Consultations
Ghana and Panama have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to officially commence bilateral political consultations.
The MoU was signed by Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and his Panamanian counterpart, His Excellency Javier Eduardo Martínez-Acha Vásquez, on the margins of the ongoing UN General Assembly Session in New York.
The agreement seeks to deepen and structure cooperation between the two countries, particularly in maritime affairs, cocoa production, enhanced trade and mutual technical assistance in the extractive sector.
On a light-hearted note, Honourable Ablakwa took the opportunity to reconcile with Panama after Ghana’s Senior National Football team, the Black Stars, defeated Panama at the just ended World Cup.
