51-year-old drug ‘pusher’ and 42-year-old wife arrested by NACOC in Accra
A 51-year-old suspected drug dealer and his 42-year-old wife have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) for allegedly supplying illicit drugs in Accra.
NACOC identified the suspects as Jibreel Hardi and his wife, Abiba Fatawu.
The couple were arrested on Thursday, September 3, 2026, during an intelligence-led joint operation involving NACOC officials and National Security operatives.
Jibreel Hardi was reportedly on his way to meet a prospective buyer when NACOC officials intercepted him at about 11 a.m. at Weija in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
According to information gathered, the operation followed an extended period of intelligence gathering by undercover operatives of NACOC’s Special Operations team.
A search of Hardi’s vehicle at the time of his arrest resulted in the discovery of large quantities of dried leaves wrapped in polythene, suspected to be Indian hemp (cannabis), as well as packets of Tramadol.
The operatives subsequently proceeded to Hardi’s residence, where they allegedly retrieved additional quantities of the suspected cannabis and Tramadol.
A firearm, together with 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, was also found at the residence.
