A latest online poll conducted by the Institute of Political Research (IPR) on the upcoming NPP National Nasara Organiser race has placed Nasara hopeful, Awal Mohammed, in a commanding lead.
Out of 1,786 total votes cast in the poll, Awal Mohammed secured 1.4K votes, representing 78.39%, showing massive confidence from the grassroots.
The poll, which sampled party grassroots and stakeholders, reflects the growing momentum behind his candidacy ahead of the NPP National Delegates Conference.

According to analysts, the poll reflects the strong momentum and growing acceptance of Awal Mohammed’s message of unity, grassroots empowerment, and effective mobilization for the Nasara wing.
His lead by over 67 percentage points over his closest contender positions him as the clear frontrunner for the position, which is crucial to the NPP’s mobilization drive in Zongo communities across the country.
Supporters of Awal Mohammed say his campaign, which focuses on re-energizing the Nasara wing, bridging the gap between the party and the Zongo communities, and ensuring effective mobilization for the 2028 general elections, is resonating strongly with the base.
The NPP will on October 3, 2026 converge at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to elect new national officers to lead the party into the 2028 elections.
