‘Good people don’t live long’ saying must be abolished – Rev. Vincent Kankam (Sofo Kankam)
Reverend Vincent Kankam has criticised the popular saying that “good people don’t live long,” describing it as a harmful belief that contributes to the creation of a wicked society.
Speaking on his show on Kessben FM, Rev. Kankam argued that the notion should be rejected because it can create the impression that goodness is associated with an early death.
“The popular saying ‘good people don’t live long’ is building a wicked system and must be abolished. The truth is good people live long. Let’s protect good people,” he said.
He called on society to change the way it speaks about and treats people who demonstrate kindness, integrity and selflessness.
According to Rev. Kankam, rather than normalising the loss of good people, society must actively protect and support them so they can continue contributing positively to their communities.
