Know Fraud, Stop Fraud! Graphic Communications Group Partners CSA For Nationwide Awareness

By Grace Baaba Sam

The Graphic Communications Group Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) to educate Ghanaians and protect them from financial fraud.

The Director of Marketing and Sales at the Graphic Communications Group Limited, Mr. Franklin Sosu, made the commitment during the official presentation of a report to the Cyber Security Authority.
He said Graphic has, over the years, positioned itself as a media institution that inserts itself into conversations that deliver value to the nation, its people and the business community.

According to him, Graphic organises quarterly conversations on issues of national interest, bringing together key industry players to discuss matters relevant to nation building.

He said the latest edition, held in 2026, focused on cyber security under the theme, “Shine Your Eyes: Combating Financial Fraud in Ghana Through Collaboration and Innovation.”

Mr. Franklin Sosu said the discussions generated significant insights and exposed the extent to which members of the public still lack knowledge about cyber threats.

He explained that Graphic’s objective goes beyond discussions, as the platform is also intended to provide solutions to some of the problems identified.
“Beyond just talk, we have this platform and the pitch of the platform is that we must provide solutions to some of the problems that we identify,” he said.

He added that, based on the calibre of panelists and submissions from industry experts, Graphic compiled a report highlighting key issues raised during the discussions as well as some of the solutions proposed.
The report, he said, is intended to help stakeholders in the cyber security space apply the recommendations to improve cyber security practices.

Mr. Franklin Sosu further said Graphic is committed to working with the CSA to improve knowledge and awareness and help protect people from fraud, particularly as Ghana increasingly moves towards digital payments and transactions.

He cautioned that cyber security must not be treated as a one-off campaign, stressing the need for sustained efforts in the fight against financial fraud.
“If you run this as a campaign or a project that has a start and an end, you will never win the battle. This battle has to be consistent,” he stated.
He also pledged Graphic’s readiness to work with the CSA on follow-up engagements to sustain the momentum and ensure that Ghanaians are consistently informed and protected.

Receiving the report on behalf of the Cyber Security Authority, the Acting Director of Communications, International Cooperation and Strategic Partnership at the CSA, Benjamin Maduro Avornyotse, assured that the report would be sent to the Director General and the two Deputy Directors General for consideration.

He also called for stronger media partnerships ahead of this year’s Cyber Security Awareness Month in September.

Mr. Avornyotse said the CSA wants to work closely with the media to address the technical issues and solutions highlighted in the report, particularly emerging trends that require the attention of the Cyber Security Authority.

He said the Authority will also draw insights from industry players, including the media and the banking sector, citing Stanbic Bank as an example, to strengthen collaboration in tackling cyber-related challenges.

He added that particular attention would be given to the experiences of fraud victims, with the aim of providing more insights into how such cases can be addressed.
According to him, the concerns raised in relation to fraud victims will also be reflected in the report as part of efforts to strengthen the response to financial fraud.

The report was officially presented to the Cyber Security Authority during the meeting
