Electricity Is Not NDC Or NPP” — Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe Leads Bipartisan Push For Power In Amenfi Central
The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has held a meeting with Assembly Members, constituency leaders and community stakeholders to address the persistent electricity challenges in the constituency.
The meeting focused on faulty and inadequate transformers, damaged meters, ECG-related issues, unstable power supply, communities without reliable electricity, and the need to extend power to underserved areas.
“Development Has No Political Colour”
In a statement after the engagement, Hon. Gyan Cudjoe emphasized that development issues must be separated from politics.
“Electricity, transformers, meters, ECG services, roads, schools, healthcare and development are not NDC or NPP they are for everybody,” she said.
“I am the Member of Parliament for EVERYBODY in Amenfi Central not only NDC.”
She particularly commended Hon. Gyenfi Emmanuel, NPP Assembly Member for Kwaku Boah, for his consistent follow-ups on the electricity problems in his area.
“That is good leadership putting your people before politics,” she stated.
The delegation present included Hon. Mathias Coffie, Hon. Richard Angsokpieg, Hon. Enock Kwaw Sekyim, Hon. Adowah Stephen and Hon. Kwame Ashie, together with former Assembly Members Hon. Anita Lafone and Hon. Daniel Appiah, popularly known as Chairman Daniel.
Updates On Ongoing Interventions
Hon. Gyan Cudjoe said her office, together with the DCE Hon. Peter Amposah, NDC constituency and branch structures, Assembly Members and community leaders, have been working with the Energy Ministry and ECG for the past three months to address the challenges.
With the commitment of the President and the Minister for Energy, she expressed optimism that residents will begin to see results soon.
“We are working hard and remain hopeful that before the end of this month, or God willing by the end of August, we will begin seeing solutions to these electricity and transformer challenges,” she noted.
Call For Unity
The MP urged residents to report genuine development problems to her office or through their Assembly Members for follow-up.
“Let us put politics aside. Let us work hard together and support the people of Amenfi Central,” she added.
She reaffirmed her commitment to farmers, market women, teachers, nurses, students, youth, artisans and every family in the constituency.
The meeting forms part of efforts by the Amenfi Central MP to push for improved infrastructure and basic services under the government’s “Resetting Ghana” agenda.
