President Mahama Kicks Off Two-Day Volta Tour with Juapong Market Sod-Cutting

President John Dramani Mahama has begun a two-day tour of the Volta Region under his Resetting Ghana initiative, with stops planned across infrastructure, education, health and security projects.

The tour kicked off in Juapong, where the President cut the sod for 18 new 24-Hour Economy Model Markets; one for each district in the region, as part of government efforts to strengthen local commerce and expand market infrastructure.

Other stops on day one include Peki College of Education and the University of Health and Allied Sciences at Sokode, along with an inspection of the Asikuma-Ho road works under the Big Push Programme. President Mahama will also commission the new Akatsi North District Police Headquarters and host a durbar on the Free Primary Health Care programme, joined by Ministers of State, heads of public institutions and MPs.

Day two shifts to Ho, where the President will hold a town hall at Ho Technical University to engage chiefs and residents on government policies and development projects in the region. He will also visit the Ho Sports Stadium to assess its condition.
