The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Has Annulled The Purported Constituency Executive Elections Held Over The Weekend In Bantama, Afigya Sekyere East, And Adansi Asokwa, Citing Flagrant Disregard For Party Directives, Electoral Rules, And In Some Cases, Subsisting Court Orders.

In A Statement Signed By Acting National Chairman, Danquah Smith Buttey, And General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, The Party Said The Decision Was Taken By The *National Steering Committee* At Its Meeting Held On Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

According To The Party, The Elections In The Three Ashanti Region Constituencies Were Conducted In Breach Of The Rules And Regulations Governing The 2026 Constituency Executive Elections.

“The National Steering Committee Has, With Immediate Effect, Annulled The Purported Constituency Executive Elections Conducted Over The Weekend In Certain Constituencies On The Grounds That The Elections Were Conducted In Flagrant Disregard Of Party Directives, The Rules And Regulations Governing The 2026 Constituency Executive Elections, And, Where Applicable, Subsisting Court Orders,” The Statement Noted.

Ashanti Regional Executives Summoned

The Party Has Also Summoned The Ashanti Regional Steering Committee To Appear Before The National Steering Committee On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, To Account For The Circumstances Surrounding The Conduct Of The Elections In The Affected Constituencies.

Other Disputes Referred To Electoral Affairs Committee

Additionally, The NPP Has Referred Issues Related To Asante Akyem Central, Along With All Other Outstanding Constituency Election Disputes, To The *Electoral Affairs Committee Of The National Council* For Advice And Recommendations.

The Party Emphasized That The Move Is Part Of Efforts To Ensure Due Process And Address All Grievances Arising From The Weekend Elections.
