Promise Kept at 66” – Ken Agyapong Donates Pickup and 15 Motorbikes to Police Counter-Terrorism Unit

Former Assin Central MP and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has donated a pickup vehicle and 15 motorbikes to the Accra Regional Police Command to support the operations of the Police Counter-Terrorism Unit.
The donation, made on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, coincided with Mr. Agyapong’s 66th birthday and forms part of what he described as his corporate social responsibility and commitment to national security.
Speaking during the presentation, the outspoken businessman and politician recounted a visit by the Accra Regional Police Commander, during which he observed the poor condition of some of the unit’s operational vehicles.
According to him, the encounter inspired him to make a pledge to support the unit after his campaign activities.
“When the Commander visited me, I saw the challenges they were facing with logistics and promised to surprise them. Today, as I mark my birthday, I have fulfilled that promise,” he said.
Mr. Agyapong noted that the vehicles would help strengthen the operational capacity of the Counter-Terrorism Unit in the Greater Accra Region and beyond.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Ghana Police Service, Accra Regional Commander DCOP Duuti Tuaruka Muut, expressed gratitude to Mr. Agyapong for the gesture and assured him that the vehicles would be used for their intended purpose.
“We are grateful for this timely support. These vehicles will significantly enhance our operations, and we assure you they will be put to good use in safeguarding the public,” the commander stated.
The donation comes at a time when security agencies continue to call for increased logistical support to strengthen their ability to respond to emerging security threats across the country.
