Accra High Court dismisses Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi’s withdrawal application in Wontumi case

The Accra High Court has dismissed an application by lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi seeking to formally withdraw his legal services for New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, in the ongoing Samreboi case.

Presiding Judge Audrey Kucovie-Tawiah ruled that counsel does not require the court’s permission through a motion to withdraw legal representation. The court further emphasized that any change in legal counsel would not affect the scheduled delivery of its ruling.

The court confirmed that its ruling in the matter will be delivered on July 3, 2026, as previously scheduled.

In addition, the court granted an extension for the filing of final addresses, moving the deadline from June 17, 2026, to June 23, 2026.

The case continues ahead of the anticipated ruling date, despite developments concerning legal representation.
