Digital Foundation Africa Confirms Sole Ownership and Stewardship of the Africa Digital Festival

Digital Foundation Africa (DFA) today confirms that the Africa Digital Festival (ADF) 2026 will proceed under the sole institutional leadership, ownership, and stewardship of Digital Foundation Africa. DFA issues this notice to clarify for its sponsors, partners, host institutions, the media, and the wider public the governance of the Africa Digital Festival and all its associated sub-brands.
The Africa Digital Festival is a Digital Foundation Africa Initiative
The Africa Digital Festival, together with its name, brand, identity, and associated assets, is the exclusive property of Digital Foundation Africa.
DFA is the institutional lead and sole rights holder for all editions of the Festival and for every component and sub-brand operating under the Africa Digital Festival umbrella.
These sub-brands and signature properties include, but are not limited to, the following:
a. ADF Convo
b. Africa Digital Awards
c. ADF Summits
d. Africa 50 Digital e. Champions
f. ADF Expo
g. GLITCH
and other current and future Africa Digital Festival properties
All rights, brand equity, and goodwill in these properties vest exclusively in Digital Foundation Africa.
Conclusion of Prior Collaboration
Any prior collaborative arrangement between Digital Foundation Africa and Media General / MG Digital Media Limited in relation to the Africa Digital Festival has concluded. Media General and MG Digital Media Limited are no longer associated with the Africa Digital Festival in any capacity, and have confirmed that they will not use the Africa Digital Festival name going forward.
Accordingly, Media General / MG Digital Media Limited holds no authority, express or implied, to represent the Africa Digital Festival, to use its name or branding, or to solicit, negotiate, or enter into any sponsorship, partnership, media, or commercial arrangement on behalf of the Festival, its sub-brands, or Digital Foundation Africa.
Notice to Sponsors, Partners, and the Media
Sponsors, partners, government and institutional stakeholders, media houses, and members of the public are advised to engage exclusively with Digital Foundation Africa on all matters concerning the Africa Digital Festival 2026 and its sub-brands.
Any communication, proposal, invoice, or representation regarding the Africa Digital Festival or any of its sub-brands that does not originate directly from Digital Foundation Africa should not be acted upon.
Stakeholders should not engage Media General on any matter relating to the Africa Digital Festival brand, and are encouraged to verify any approach directly with DFA using the contact details below.
