NPP Communicator Demands Action Over Charles Amisah Death After Badu Akosah Report
Story: Maurice Otoo

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication Team, Awal Mohammed, has expressed deep sorrow over the findings contained in the Prof. Badu Akosah Committee report on the death of Charles Amisah, calling on government to urgently address negligence within the healthcare system.
Speaking on the matter at the Kessben Maakye show, Awal Mohammed stated that the committee’s report did not directly implicate ambulance handlers in the unfortunate incident but rather highlighted persistent delays and negligence on the part of health facilities that allegedly failed to attend to the patient promptly.
According to him, the recommendations outlined in the report, including sanctions against persons found culpable, are necessary to serve as a deterrent to healthcare practitioners who may engage in similar acts of negligence.
He lamented that cases of medical negligence and the growing “no bed syndrome” continue to claim lives across the country, stressing that the situation has become alarming.
Awal Mohammed therefore called on government and relevant authorities to act swiftly by cracking the whip to serve as a deterrent to others
