Hospitals are not hospitals without equipment – Hussein Ibrahim on building of healthcare infrastructure by successive governments

Hussein Ibrahim, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team, has stated that newly constructed hospitals cannot effectively serve the public unless they are fully equipped with the necessary medical tools and facilities.

Speaking on Kessben FM, Hussein Ibrahim argued that the mere construction of hospital buildings should not be the only measure of progress in the healthcare sector.

According to him, hospitals become functional only when they are provided with modern medical equipment, adequate logistics, and trained personnel to deliver quality healthcare services.

He noted that successive governments have invested in hospital infrastructure across the country, but some facilities continue to face challenges due to a lack of equipment and operational resources.

“Hospitals are not hospitals until equipment is put in,” he stressed during the discussion, calling on authorities to prioritise the completion and proper furnishing of health facilities.
