They told me not to pursue the matter – Mother of Amaniampong SHS student speaks out after alleged assault by teacher

The mother has gone public with allegations that her son, a student of Amaniampong Senior High School, was physically assaulted by a teacher for failing to attend an all-night church service.
Speaking on Kessben FM, the woman recounted that she was told her son was beaten after he did not participate in the religious activity, which she says was not mandatory.
She further alleged that school authorities discouraged her from pursuing the matter, urging her to let the issue go rather than seek accountability. Feeling sidelined, the mother has now appealed to various authorities across Ghana, including education officials and child protection agencies, to intervene.
The incident has sparked concern among listeners and community members, raising questions about student safety, religious freedom, and disciplinary practices within schools.
As of now, school officials have not publicly responded to the allegations. Meanwhile, the mother says she remains determined to seek justice and ensure such incidents do not happen to other students.
