Dumsor: They are collapsing businesses; why can’t they give us a timetable? – Sam Pyne
Speaking on Kessben FM with host Wofa Kofi Appiah, former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Mayor, Hon. Samuel Pyne has criticized the current NDC government’s handling of the situation, describing the outages as devastating to livelihoods.
“They are collapsing people’s businesses,” he said, expressing frustration over the lack of a clear and reliable load-shedding timetable. According to him, the absence of a structured schedule is making it nearly impossible for small and medium-sized enterprises to plan their operations effectively.
Hon. Pyne emphasized that predictable power supply, even if limited, would allow business owners to adjust working hours and reduce losses. Instead, he argued, the erratic nature of the outages is deepening economic hardship.
The issue of dumsor has long been a politically sensitive topic, with successive governments facing criticism over energy management. For many affected traders and entrepreneurs, however, the debate is less about politics and more about survival.
