If President Mahama says LGBTQ is not a priority, when will it be a priority? Let’s give him the same pressure we gave Akufo-Addo – Beatrice Owarewaa Siaw

A communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Beatrice Owarewaa Siaw, has called for increased public pressure on John Dramani Mahama over his stance on LGBTQ+ issues.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM, Ms. Siaw questioned the former president’s position that LGBTQ+ concerns are not a priority. She argued that if such matters are consistently deprioritized, they may never receive the attention they require.
“If he says it is not a priority, when will it be?” she asked, urging Ghanaians to apply the same level of scrutiny and pressure that was directed at Nana Akufo-Addo during his time in office.
Her comments have added to ongoing national conversations about governance priorities, human rights, and political accountability. While some supporters agree with her call for consistency in holding leaders accountable, others maintain that governments must balance multiple competing issues based on urgency and national interest.
