I don’t feel the presence of Vice President, Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang in governance – Beatrice Owarewaa Siaw, NPP comm. team member

A member of the communications team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Beatrice Owarewaa Siaw, has expressed concern over what she describes as the low visibility of the Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, in the country’s governance process.

Speaking during an interview on Kessben FM, Ms. Siaw stated that she does not feel the presence or impact of the Vice President in the day-to-day administration of the country. According to her, Ghanaians expect to see a more active role from the office, particularly in policy direction and public engagement.

“I don’t feel her presence in governance,” she remarked, suggesting that the Vice President’s contributions are not sufficiently visible to the public.

Her comments have since sparked debate among political observers, with some arguing that the role of a vice president is often less public-facing, while others agree that greater visibility could strengthen public confidence in leadership.

There has been no immediate response from the Office of the Vice President regarding the remarks. However, analysts say such statements are likely to intensify political discussions as parties position themselves ahead of future elections.
