President Mahama’s side chick comment: I did not expect that from the president – Wofa Kofi Appiah

Media personality Wofa Kofi Appiah has expressed disappointment over President John Dramani Mahama’s comments regarding the Big Push project in relation to sidechicks.
Speaking on his show on Kessben FM, Wofa Kofi Appiah said he did not expect such a remark from the president after President Mahama suggested even “side chicks” could benefit or leverage opportunities from the initiative.
“I did not expect the president to say that,” he stated, adding that such comments could be interpreted as indirectly endorsing or normalizing side relationships.
According to him, leaders must be mindful of their public statements, as their words carry weight and can influence societal values and perceptions.
The Big Push project, widely discussed as a major development agenda aimed at driving infrastructure and economic growth, has generally attracted public interest. However, the controversial remark has shifted attention toward concerns about public discourse and leadership communication.
Wofa Kofi Appiah stressed that while policies are important, the language used to promote them also matters, urging public figures to exercise caution when addressing sensitive social issues.
