Many Voxy cars have been registered for private use but are operating commercially, report them to us – DVLA boss

The Ashanti Regional Manager of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, Jerry Edem Aflabo, has expressed concern over the growing misuse of privately registered vehicles for commercial transport in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM with host Wofa Kofi Appiah, Mr. Aflabo revealed that many Toyota Voxy vehicles, which are officially registered as private cars, are increasingly being used for commercial activities.
According to him, this practice violates vehicle registration laws and undermines regulatory efforts within the transport sector. He noted that such misuse can lead to safety risks, improper insurance coverage, and loss of revenue for the state.
Mr. Aflabo is therefore calling on the public to assist the DVLA by reporting any vehicles found engaging in commercial operations without the appropriate registration. He emphasized that enforcing compliance is key to ensuring fairness and safety across Ghana’s transport system.
