The Global Institute of Aviation (GIA) held its 4th Graduation Ceremony on February 28, 2026, at the GNAT Hall in Accra, Ghana, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s journey. The event brought together industry stakeholders, partners, and graduates, highlighting GIA’s commitment to equipping students with industry-relevant skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and core values like integrity and discipline.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lecturer Michael Yao Dumenya emphasized GIA’s focus on holistic training, incorporating technology into its curriculum to prepare students for the digital age. “We don’t just train them for the industry; we equip them with skills to excel,” he said. This year’s graduating class of 56 students has received training in airline customer service, passenger handling, management, leadership, and ethics, making them competitive in Ghana’s aviation and tourism sector.
The event also witnessed partnerships aimed at boosting industry growth and graduate employability. Adansi Travels, a leading travel management company, has partnered with GIA to offer internship programs and travel packages to graduates. Flora Lattbridge, Customer Experience Assistant Manager at Adansi Travels, expressed the company’s commitment to developing talent in Ghana’s aviation sector. “We believe in growth, and partnering with GIA allows us to support young professionals and promote travel and tourism awareness,” she said.
United Nigeria Airlines also reaffirmed its commitment to Ghana’s aviation sector, partnering with GIA to support young aviators and promote industry growth. Country Manager Nonso Atanmo highlighted the airline’s corporate responsibility to nurture talent and connect people. “Ghana is a key gateway for West African connectivity, and we plan to expand our routes and opportunities within the country,” he said.
These partnerships underscore GIA’s dedication to bridging the gap between academia and industry, equipping graduates with practical skills and industry insights. As Ghana’s aviation and tourism sector continues to grow, institutions like GIA, Adansi Travels, and United Nigeria Airlines are playing pivotal roles in shaping the industry’s future.
