Trust us, W are ready to support cocoa farmers despite price cuts – Vincent Asare Bediako

A former parliamentary candidate for Offinso South on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Vincent Asare Bediako, has urged cocoa farmers to remain confident in the party’s commitment to their welfare despite concerns over falling cocoa prices.
Speaking on Kessben FM’s Maakye morning show hosted by Wofa Kofi Appiah, Bediako called on farmers to trust that the NDC government is mindful of their challenges and is ready to support them during this period.
He acknowledged the impact of the cocoa price slash on farmers’ livelihoods but emphasized that the party is considering measures to cushion them. According to him, cocoa farmers remain a key pillar of Ghana’s economy, and their concerns are being taken seriously at the highest levels.
The remarks come at a time when many farmers are expressing frustration over reduced earnings and rising production costs. While some have welcomed the assurance from the former candidate, others are calling for immediate and tangible interventions to address the situation.
