Ramadan is a period of cleansing – Mallam Ibrahim Balley

Islamic scholar Mallam Ibrahim Balley has described Ramadan as a sacred period of spiritual cleansing, urging Muslims to use the holy month to renew their faith and strengthen their relationship with Allah.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM, he explained that Ramadan goes beyond fasting from food and drink, emphasizing that it is also a time to purify the heart, avoid wrongdoing, and practice self-discipline.
According to Mallam Balley, the period offers an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on their actions, seek forgiveness, and show kindness to others, especially the less privileged in society. He encouraged believers to increase their acts of charity, prayers, and good deeds throughout the month.
He further noted that true observance of Ramadan involves patience, humility, and a commitment to moral living, which should continue even after the fasting period ends.
