If Akufo-Addo’s family acquires something, they say they are thieves, but if Mahama’s family buys a private jet, they say they are businessmen – Nana Adjei Perez

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Nana Adjei Perez, has accused critics of hypocrisy in the way they judge the business activities of political families in Ghana.
Speaking on Kessben FM with Wofa Kofi Appiah, Perez argued that when members of former President Nana Akufo-Addo’s family acquired valuable assets, they were often labeled negatively by political opponents.
According to him, critics described such acquisitions as questionable and accused them of wrongdoing. However, he claimed that when relatives of President John Dramani Mahama acquire expensive assets, including items such as private jets, they are instead portrayed as successful businesspeople.
Perez maintained that the same standard should be applied when assessing the wealth or business success of individuals linked to political figures.
He called for fairness in public discourse, stressing that political rivalry should not influence how people judge the achievements or assets of others.
