Security Service Recruitment: NDC, unlike the other party, opened access to all Ghanaians, leading to high applications – Oheneba Baffour Awuah

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, Oheneba Baffour Awuah, has attributed the large number of applicants in the recent security service recruitment exercise to the government’s decision to make the process open to all qualified Ghanaians.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Mr. Awuah explained that the NDC government intentionally adopted an inclusive approach to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for citizens interested in joining the country’s security services.
According to him, the open recruitment policy resulted in an overwhelming response, with about 500,000 people submitting applications for the exercise. However, due to the limited vacancies available, only about 5,000 applicants were ultimately selected.
Mr. Awuah noted that the high number of applicants demonstrates the strong interest among Ghanaian youth in serving in the nation’s security services. He added that the transparent and inclusive nature of the recruitment process was aimed at giving every qualified Ghanaian a fair chance.
He further encouraged those who were not selected to remain hopeful and continue preparing for future opportunities within the security services.
