Assemblyman under investiaation for allegedly forcing minors into public sexual act

Assemblyman of Efiekuma electoral area is reportedly alleged to have compelled two teenagers in an open-air sex as what he termed as punishment for seeing them in awkward place.
Speaking to Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kessben Maakye today, the Western Regional Director of Gender affairs, Madam Maribel Akourko Okine said she was alerted of the incident yesterday by a media house.
According to sources, she said this was said to be a form of punishment invoked by the assembly man for chancing on these minors in a suspicious place yesterday.
Upon receiving the message she reported the issue to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) for further investigation.
Currently she claimed, the victim’s parents and the assembly man have been invited to the police for furtherance of the investigation.
“It is very pathetic for the man to have punished the teenagers in such a manner” she noted.
The children are said to be between the ages of 14 and 15 years of age that categorize them as people who are not permitted to engage in sexual intercourse by the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana.
The police are yet to hear from the suspect as to what exactly transpired.
In conclusion she appealed to the media to give the gender ministry some free airtime to educate the public about some of these incidents
