OmniBSIC Bank has successfully held the 10th edition of its annual Health Walk, bringing together senior and junior staff as well as members of various fitness clubs in a show of unity and commitment to healthy living.
The exercise, which covered approximately 11 kilometres, saw participants move from the bank’s premises through selected streets before converging at the Legon Sports Complex for aerobics and other health-related activities.
Speaking to Maurice Otoo on Kessben online, the Chairperson of the OmniBSIC Health Walk Committee, Mrs. Akyaa Arhin Addo-Kuffour, described the 10th edition as the best so far. She explained that the initiative was introduced to address health challenges faced by staff due to prolonged sitting and limited physical activity associated with office work.
According to her, the bank recognises that long hours of sedentary work can contribute to various health complications, hence the need to encourage regular exercise among employees. She added that the health walk is not limited to staff alone but is opened to the wider public to promote collective well-being.
Mrs. Addo-Kuffour expressed satisfaction with the growing participation and the positive feedback received from previous editions, noting that the continuous improvement of the event reflects the bank’s commitment to staff welfare.
The event was supported by several companies that mounted exhibition stands to showcase health and wellness products and services. Participants were also treated to lively entertainment, with musician Samini adding excitement to the occasion with energetic performances.
The annual Health Walk forms part of OmniBSIC Bank’s broader corporate wellness agenda aimed at fostering a healthier, more productive workforce.
