CLOGSAG’s Ultimatum: Strike Looms Over Delayed Salary Structure

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced plans to embark on a nationwide strike on March 9, 2026, over the government’s failure to implement a unique salary structure and agreed conditions of service for its members. This decision follows protracted negotiations with the government, dating back to 2019, and two signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with implementation expected to take effect from January 1, 2025.

According to Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo, despite reminders to the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), there has been no response from the government. CLOGSAG is holding the government accountable for the signed agreements and will proceed with the strike unless the government shows “good intentions” before the stated date.

The Association has notified the National Labour Commission of its intended industrial action, emphasizing its commitment to advocating for better conditions of service for its members .
