Opposition NPP should cut the bluff, What did they do for cocoa farmers when a tonne of cocoa hit $12,000 under their regime? – Frank Otuo Acheampong

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Frank Otuo Acheampong, has taken a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), urging the party to “cut the bluff” over its criticisms of the current administration’s handling of the cocoa sector.
Speaking on Kessben Maakye with Wofa Kofi Appiah, Mr. Acheampong questioned what the NPP did for cocoa farmers when global cocoa prices surged to $12,000 per tonne. He argued that despite the historic price spike, farmers did not see what he described as significant or transformative benefits under the previous government.
According to him, it is inconsistent for the NPP to now criticize the government over challenges in the cocoa industry when, in his view, they failed to maximize opportunities during periods of favorable global pricing. He maintained that cocoa farmers deserve tangible improvements in income and welfare, not political rhetoric.
His comment adds to the ongoing debate over the management of the cocoa sector and the role of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) in ensuring fair returns for farmers
