Cocoa prices have always been fluctuating, The Gov’t should find money to sort out the farmers – Moses Djan Asiedu, Administrator of Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Association

Moses Djan Asiedu, Administrator of the Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Association, has called on government to urgently provide financial support to cocoa farmers to cushion them against the persistent fluctuations in cocoa prices.

Speaking on Kessben FM during an interview with Wofa Kofi Appiah, Mr. Asiedu noted that cocoa prices have never been stable and that farmers often bear the brunt of these uncertainties. According to him, the constant rise and fall in prices makes it difficult for farmers to plan, invest in their farms, and maintain a decent standard of living.

He stressed that cocoa remains a backbone of Ghana’s economy, and therefore the welfare of farmers should be treated as a national priority. Mr. Asiedu urged the government to “find money and sort out the farmers,” adding that timely financial interventions, better pricing policies, and access to affordable inputs would help sustain cocoa production.

He appealed for stronger collaboration between government, industry players, and farmer associations to ensure long-term stability and growth of the cocoa sector.
