NDC should tone down about economic gains, Just in November 2022, a litre of fuel was 9 cedis under NPP – Sam Pyne, Former Kumasi Mayor

Former Kumasi Mayor, Samuel Pyne, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to moderate its rhetoric on alleged economic gains, reminding the public of recent realities under the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Kessben FM with host Wofa Kofi Appiah, Pyne cited fuel prices as a clear example of the economic context Ghanaians experienced not long ago.

According to him, as recently as November 2022, a litre of fuel sold for about 9 cedis under the NPP administration. Pyne argued that this fact challenges attempts to rewrite economic history or exaggerate progress without acknowledging prevailing conditions at the time.

He emphasized that economic discussions should be grounded in facts rather than political spin, especially when citizens are still grappling with the cost of living. Pyne maintained that honest comparisons are necessary for meaningful national discourse and accountability.
