Former Kumasi Mayor Sam Pyne declares bid for NPP national first vice chairman post

Samuel Pyne, former Mayor of Kumasi and veteran member within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has officially announced his intention to contest the National First Vice Chairman position in the NPP’s upcoming national elections.
Speaking about his decision, Pyne emphasised his long-standing commitment to the party and its structured growth over the decades. With more than 30 years of experience in party organisation and membership mobilisation, including serving three terms as Ashanti Regional Secretary before 1992, he believes that his depth of experience will be an asset in helping to strengthen the party at the national level.
Pyne highlighted the need for seasoned leadership within the party’s national executive to support the Chairman, build cohesion among party structures, and enhance grassroots engagement. He has framed his bid as part of a broader effort to deepen party unity and ensure that the NPP remains responsive to its membership across the country.
The bid comes at a time when the NPP is preparing for internal elections to choose its national officers, a process seen as crucial in shaping the party’s strategy and readiness ahead of future national contests.
