Supreme Court decision on Kpandai election rerun shows the laws are working – Lawyer Dominic Brenya Okyere
Lawyer Dominic Brenya Okyere has described the Supreme Court’s decision to squash the proposed rerun of the Kpandai parliamentary elections as clear evidence that Ghana’s legal system is functioning as it should.
Speaking on Kessben FM with KOD, he said the ruling reinforces public confidence in the rule of law and constitutional governance.
According to Mr. Brenya Okyere, the apex court’s intervention demonstrates that electoral disputes must be resolved strictly within the framework of the law, not through pressure or administrative convenience. He noted that the Supreme Court carefully examined the issues surrounding the Kpandai election and acted to prevent a process that did not meet legal requirements.
He emphasized that such decisions are healthy for Ghana’s democracy, as they show that institutions are willing and able to correct errors when necessary.
