Popular Kumawood actor Agya Koo has thrown his full support behind Kennedy Agyapong in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership race, dismissing criticisms about the politician’s loud and outspoken nature. Speaking on Kessben FM, Agya Koo said Kennedy Agyapong’s “noise and shouting” were never for personal or family gain, but for the NPP and Ghana.
According to Agya Koo, Kennedy Agyapong’s confrontational style should be understood in context, describing it as passion for the party and the country rather than arrogance or recklessness. He explained that Kennedy Agyapong has consistently used his voice to defend the NPP, call out wrongdoing, and push for accountability, even when it came at personal cost.
The actor noted that leadership sometimes requires boldness and the courage to speak uncomfortable truths, adding that Kennedy Agyapong’s approach resonates with many grassroots supporters who see him as fearless and committed to national progress.
Agya Koo added that Ghana needs leaders who are vocal, decisive, and genuinely invested in the country’s future, stressing that this conviction is why he believes Kennedy Agyapong deserves the opportunity to lead the NPP.
