Dr. Bawumia is our best shot at winning the 2028 elections – Hon. Kwasi Konadu, MP for Manhyia North

Member of Parliament for Manhyia North Constituency, Hon. Kwasi Konadu has reiterated his stance concerning the winning chances of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia in the NPP Primaries.
With different polls placing Dr. Bawumia victorious ahead of his contenders, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, Hon. Kwasi Konadu is optimistic that Dr. Bawumia is the NPP’s best option.
He made these comments in an exclusive interview with Wofa Kofi Appiah on Kessben’s Morning Show ‘Maakye’ today, Monday, January 26, 2028.
Undoubtedly, he believes Dr. Bawumia is a formidable candidate who is incomparable to any candidate the NDC is likely to produce; thus, he’s urging all delegates to rally their support behind Dr. Bawumia and vote massively for him come Saturday.
This victory in the primaries, he’s confident, will translate into the 2028 general elections and secure an overwhelming victory for the NPP.
On proxy voting, the Honorable MP for Manhyia North, expressed his unacceptance of the Party’s decision to disallow proxy voting, saying, “I personally don’t agree with decisions regarding the proxy voting, and I believe we can put proper measures in place for future elections,” he asserted.
Arguing that if people can contribute financially to the party without being physically present, then the same must apply to elections and proxy voting.
Therefore, he’ll urge the party executives to put measures in place to accommodate such scenarios in future elections.
In his concluding remarks, Hon. Akwasi Konadu advised the presidential flagbearer hopefuls and party affiliates to abstain from politics of insults and segregation, highlighting that “the weakness of your contender is not your strength, because whatever that is being said about whoever ends up winning these polls would be used against the party in the near future”
The New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Primary is slated for this Saturday, January 31, 2026, across 275 constituencies in the country.
