In every setting, from family, business, to marriage, people consider character first – George Kwarteng urges NPP delegates to Back Bawumia

George Kwarteng has emphasized that in both family and business settings, leadership is often entrusted to individuals with proven character, integrity, and reliability.

Drawing on this principle, he has called on delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to apply the same standard in their choice of flagbearer during the party’s primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.

According to Kwarteng, leadership goes beyond popularity or loud campaigning; it is rooted in trust, consistency, and moral credibility. He argued that just as families and businesses carefully assess character before appointing leaders to safeguard their future, political parties must also prioritize values and conduct when making crucial decisions.

In this regard, Kwarteng urged NPP delegates to support former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a leader whose character, competence, and public service record reflect the qualities needed to lead both the party and the nation.

He noted that choosing a leader with strong character will not only strengthen the NPP internally but also enhance public confidence as the party prepares for future national elections.
