Photography in Accra pays more than in Kumasi, Kumasi clients like bargaining prices too much – Arthur John
Arthur John, a professional photographer of OWURASTUDIOS, has shared his perspective on the differences in the photography business between Accra and Kumasi.
Speaking in an interview with Fante Quoo, he stated that photography services tend to pay more in Accra than in Kumasi.
According to Arthur John, clients in Accra are generally more willing to pay professional rates, while photographers in Kumasi often face intense price bargaining. He noted that the constant negotiation over fees in Kumasi makes it difficult for creatives to earn what truly reflects their skill, time, and investment in equipment.
He emphasized that while Kumasi has a strong appreciation for photography, the culture of excessive bargaining affects the growth and sustainability of the business.
