As we approach the final stages of the 2025 Afcon tournament in Morocco with just two matches left to determine the winner of the tournament with four teams competing to get a place in the finals, there have been a lot of prophecies surrounding the four teams that will play in the semi-finals from different men of God in Africa. But, personally, I don’t believe prophecies come into play when it comes to which team will win or lose in a football match. My sense of worry is that if their prophecies are not the same and we all know that God speaks through His prophets, then why is it that each of them is going for one of the four teams in the semis. I am tempted to believe that their prophecies about this Afcon 2025 are all just out of their own imaginations.
A lot of pundits, punters and football loving -fans believe that Morocco, the host nation, stands a better chance of winning the 2025 Afcon at the expense of Nigeria, Egypt and Senegal. It has happened on many occasions where host nations have failed to clinch the ultimate title in spite of the huge sums of money they have invested in hosting the tournament. Looking at the form and style of play exhibited by the four teams that are through to the semi-finals, my heart goes for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and would like to give them a word of encouragement to gear them up as they prepare to face the host nation come tomorrow in Rabat.
Nothing is too hard for the Lord God Almighty, for with him all things are possible. I call on the Super Eagles players to continue to have faith in the Lord and believe that the battle has already been won since it is the Lord’s battle. If God Almighty says yes, who can say no? You are into the semis to prove to the whole world that you went to sleep in the World- Cup qualifiers and now through Christ who strengthens you, you have risen up. Super Eagles will be the winning team. Your limit is the finals in the spiritual realm and it will be made manifest in the physical.
With God almighty on your side, every mountain will be made flat before the team in your encounter against Morocco tomorrow. Victory will be yours and by the grace of the Almighty God you shall be the head and not the tail in the rest of the match you will play. Forget the former things and don’t dwell on the past wins; know that God is doing a new thing! For God will make a way where there seems to be no way. God Almighty will be with you when you pass through the waters, and the rivers will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire you will not be burnt, and the flames will not set you ablaze.
Super Eagles, Nigerians are proud of you, and we know come tomorrow you beat the Moroccans to give us sweet victory no matter the intimidations by their home fans who will come to the stadium. The hearts of Nigerians home and abroad are behind you, and we will give you the best of support tomorrow. Guard against complacency that cost you dearly in the World Cup qualifiers when you underrated the likes of Zimbabwe, Benin, Rwanda, and Lesotho. In order not to have another shock, go all out and play the Atlas Lions with full concentration, determination, character, discipline, be your ‘‘ brother’s keeper on the pitch’’ and play to the whistle of the referee.
Continue to play your hearts out and die a little for country. Treat this encounter with the Moroccans as the finals of finals, and remember apart from the huge sums of dollars each player will get, you will make history and your names shall forever remain the hearts and minds of Nigerians. Your market value will go up after clinching the fourth title. Super Eagles, May the good Lord protect and guide you, may He give you divine strength to fight a good to beat the Atlas Lions and move on to win the fourth (4th) title.
