Many NDC communicators who moved from Kumasi to Accra are getting government positions – Kennedy Kankam

Kennedy Kankam, former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Nhyiaeso Constituency, has commented on the growing visibility of former National Democratic Congress (NDC) communicators in government appointments.

Speaking on Kessben FM, Kankam observed that many NDC communicators who relocated from Kumasi to Accra have since been rewarded with positions in government.

According to Kankam, the trend reflects how political communication and loyalty are often recognized in governance structures. He cited Brogya Genfi, the current Deputy Minister for Defence, as a clear example of an NDC communicator who transitioned from active party communication to a key government role.

Kankam explained that Kumasi, traditionally considered a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has over the years produced vocal NDC communicators who took significant political risks by operating in a politically competitive environment. Their move to Accra, he suggested, positioned them closer to the center of power and decision-making.
