More than 2,000 prospective recruits have completed the first phase of the Ghana Police Service enlistment exercise, joining their colleagues across the country in the ongoing recruitment process.

More than 2,000 prospective recruits have completed the first phase of the Ghana Police Service enlistment exercise, joining their colleagues across the country in the ongoing recruitment process.
The exercise has been divided into two phases to accommodate candidates with different educational backgrounds, including degree holders, HND graduates, medical professionals, and WASSCE holders.
Speaking to journalists at the Police Training School in Patasi on Monday, January 12, DSP Godwin Ahianyo, the Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Regional Police Command, explained the modalities of the exercise and urged recruits to adhere strictly to the instructions provided.
He said the next phase, scheduled from Thursday, January 15, to Saturday, January 17, 2026, will be dedicated to prospective WASSCE recruits.
“Today’s enlistment process is solely for those qualified for body selection, including HND holders, medical professionals, and degree graduates. It will continue tomorrow as well, divided into two sessions from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the morning and the same in the afternoon, handling about 2,000 candidates per session.
“From Thursday, the process will be conducted in four centres and will cater exclusively to WASSCE recruits,” DSP Ahianyo explained.
Some prospective recruits shared their experiences with Citi News, describing the exercise as orderly and peaceful.
“There is no stress here. I left home early in the morning, and I must say this has been the safest exercise I have attended,” one candidate said.
