After Mahama, Bawumia is the next popular politician in Ghana, He’s the best bet for NPP to regain power – Hon Thomas Owusu Ansah
Former District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ahafo Ano South East, Hon. Thomas Owusu Ansah, has described Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next most popular politician in Ghana after former President John Dramani Mahama, positioning him as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) strongest candidate to reclaim political power.
Speaking on Kessben FM during a discussion hosted by Wofa Kofi Appiah, Hon. Owusu Ansah argued that Dr. Bawumia’s national appeal, policy-driven approach, and visibility in public discourse have elevated him above his contemporaries within the NPP.
According to him, these qualities make the Vice President the party’s “best bet” as it prepares for future elections.
He noted that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership style, focus on economic transformation, and ability to connect with diverse voter groups have sustained his popularity beyond party lines.
Hon. Owusu Ansah further emphasized that the NPP’s chances of returning to power would be significantly boosted by rallying behind a candidate with broad national recognition and a strong reform agenda.
